Quality
at Drake Infant and Nursery School
In
order to give each child the best possible start all the staff at
Drake strive to provide a learning environment where;
•
The atmosphere in school and the classroom environment serves
to promote children’s learning effectively.
•
The attitudes of adults and children in the school area are
positive, stimulating, supportive, sensitive and productive.
•
Aims and objectives are clearly stated and known by adults in
the school and where appropriate by parents and children.
•
Activities for our learning objectives are purposeful and
extend children to their next area of development.
•
Interactions are seen as a fruitful opportunity for teaching,
learning and assessment.
•
The adults in school develop children’s progress sensitively
and offer scope for autonomy and thoughtful evaluation.
•
The National Curriculum and Foundation Stage Curriculum is
delivered in a broad and balanced way.
•
Children are enabled to become increasingly independent and
their achievement is recognised, recorded and built upon.
•
Parents and where appropriate other professionals are consulted
and valued as partners in the education process.
